Kamil Stoch of Poland won the gold medal for the mens individual large hill ski jumping final round with a final score of 278.7 on Saturday at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi Calgarys Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes finished with a total score of 237.9, good for 25th place. Japans Noriaki Kasai claimed the silver medal by hitting a final score of 277.4. Peter Prevc of Slovenia won the bronze finishing with 274.8 points. Stoch, 26, became the third man in Olympic history to win both the normal hill and large hill events. Switzerlands Simon Ammann accomplished the feat in 2010 at the Vancouver Games. Ammann is well finished in 23rd in this event. Finlands Matti Nykanen first accomplished the double gold feat at the 1988 Olympics in Calgary. The top 30 jumpers of the qualifying round moved onto the final, but neither of Boyd-Clowes teammates were able to join him. Trevor Morrice of Calgary finished in 42nd with a score of 103.4, jumping 121.5 metres. Matthew Rowley of Red Deer, Alta., was disqualified because his suit was too big, violating competition rules. The scores of the final jump were added to the previous round, making a two-jump total. Stoch, who won gold in the mens normal hill earlier in the Games and entered the event as the world number one. He led all competitors with a score of 143.4, jumping 139 metres, tied for longest in the round and had a second jump of 132.5 metres earning him 135.3 points in the finals. Another disappointing jump saw Austrias Gregor Schlierenzauer well back in 14th after qualifications with 124.6 points and finished in seventh with a final score of 255.2. Schlierenzauer holds the record for most World Cup victories (52), but only has two bronze medals to his name in the Olympics. He finished 11th on the normal hill. Rowleys not the biggest suit in the field Rowleys disqualification surprised Curtis Lyon, the high performance director for Canada Ski Jumping. "The suit was legal the last time we tested it," Lyon said, according to the CBCs Doug Gelevan. Loose suits can create lift, allowing athletes to fly farther. "He definitively doesnt have the biggest suit in the field," Lyon said. "Its not technically cheating in ski jumping, if you look around some of the guys suits are definitively baggier. Maybe they just know how to manipulate them better (in testing) the way they stand, the way they pull it up. "Its definitively a rule management issue. So maybe we have to work with [our athletes] on that." Lyle Alzado Youth Jersey . Hes the same player he always was, only now his efforts are being rewarded. The rookie manager has made a habit of heaping praise on others when things are going well, and accepting criticism when they arent. But in the case of Hurtado, its what the coach is NOT saying that may be the secret to a superb run of form. Jerry Rice Jersey . Mike Ribeiro had a goal and an assist as Phoenix held on to snap a two-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Friday. http://www.footballraidersmall.com/Youth-Jack-Tatum-Elite-Jersey/ .com) - Maria Sharapova rallied for a three- set win over Ana Ivanovic on Saturday to capture the season-opening Brisbane International tennis tournament. Ronnie Lott Jersey . Louis Cardinals continued their offensive tear with a 9-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the opener of a four-game series. Lester Hayes Womens Jersey .I get texts: Do you know Drake? Have you met Drake? He sits there every night, he hears me cuss out the referees every night, Casey said, laughing.PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have avoided arbitration with Brad Ziegler by agreeing to a two-year, $10.5 million contract with the right-handed reliever. Ziegler revealed the agreement via Twitter, saying hes "really excited to stay in Arizona for a couple more years, at least." Under the contract, the side-arm pitcher gets $4.5 million for 2014 and $5 million for 2015 with a $5.5 million option for 2016 that includes a $1 million buyout. The 34-year-old pitcher has spent the last two seasons with the Diamondbacks, going 14-2 with a 2.36 ERA. Last season, Ziegler inherited the closers role due to injuries and struggles by others. He had a career-high 13 saves in 15 opportunities. Last season, he was 8-1 with a 2.22 ERA. Also on Friday, the Diamondbacks officially reported they had reached an agreement on a one-yeear contract with third baseman Eric Chavez.ddddddddddddChavez gets $3.5 million plus $1 million if he reaches a threshold of days on the active roster. In addition, Arizona announced its minor-league coaching assignments. They include Mark Grace, the former Diamondbacks first baseman, then television analyst before a pair of DUI arrests in a 15-month period cost him that job. The Diamondbacks kept him on as a spring training hitting instructor this year. Former major leaguer Phil Nevin will manage Arizonas Triple-A team in Reno. He replaces Brett Butler, who left to become third base coach in Miami. Former Diamondbacks catcher Robbie Hammock goes from managing Hillsboro to managing high Class A Visalia. Hammock played six seasons for the Diamondbacks, memorably catching Randy Johnsons perfect game. ' ' '
