Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Gordon Hayward joked last month on Twitter that hed crush LeBron James in a game of one-on-one. Hayward was talking about video games, but he did get the best of James on Wednesday. Hayward stepped back and drained a right-wing jumper at the buzzer to lift the Utah Jazz to a 102-100 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. James, who had six points in the final 13.9 seconds, hit three free throws after drawing a foul from beyond the arc on Derrick Favors with 3.4 seconds left to tie the game, but Hayward had the answer at the other end to send the Cavs to a 1-3 start. Hayward took an inbounds pass at the top of the arc as James fell down, took a few dribbles to his right, stepped back and rose over the outstretched arm of Tristan Thompson as time expired. Hayward finished with 21 points and seven assists, Derrick Favors posted 21 points and 10 rebounds and Enes Kanter added 18 points for the Jazz, who have won two of three since starting 0-2. Kyrie Irving netted a game-high 34 points and James provided 31 for Cleveland, which trailed by as many as 16, but Irvings runner with 5:25 left staked the Cavs to their first lead of the second half at 87-85. James nailed a jumper to make it 89-86 before Utah responded with a 10-1 run. Favors put in a reverse layup and split a pair of free throws to cap the surge and give the Jazz a 96-90 advantage with 1:29 to go. After Alec Burks sunk two foul shots to give Utah a 98-94 spread, James swished a fadeaway triple from the left corner with 13.9 ticks on the clock. Burks knocked down two more freebies at the other end prior to James three makes from the charity stripe. Earlier, the Jazz made nine of their first 11 shots and raced out to a 22-14 start before settling for a 32-23 cushion following a quarter of play. Utah led 59-48 at halftime and built the margin as high as 15 early on in the third. Cleveland closed the third on an 18-6 surge to get within 76-75 heading into the final frame. Game Notes Utah outrebounded Cleveland 41-30 and held a 46-38 advantage in the paint ... The Cavs scored 24 points off 15 Utah turnovers ... The last team to win an NBA title following a 1-3 start are the 1990-91 Chicago Bulls. Cameron Meredith Saints Jersey . This should be celebrated because it will not always be this way. With the amount of money given to players by their clubs these days, it is a wonder that so many of those teams allow the sport to continue to take away many of their assets so they can play for a different team in the middle of their season. This is an exercise I have undertaken a few times, starting in 2009, and hope that Ive refined my approach a little bit in that time to help paint a better picture. http://www.authenticfootballshopsaints.com/Youth-Jermon-Bushrod-Elite-Jersey/ . The Maple Leafs handed their embattled head coach a two-year contract extension on Thursday, while at the same time announcing that assistants Dave Farrish, Greg Cronin and Scott Gordon will not be back. New Orleans Saints Jerseys . The 21-year-old Canadian earned a spot in his third career ATP final on Saturday thanks to his first Top 10 victory of the new tennis season, a 6-4, 6-4 win over world no. 10 Nicolas Almagro of Spain. Patrick Robinson Saints Jersey . Not Peyton Manning. Hes holding on to the heartache to stoke his competitive fire.CINCINNATI, Ohio -- A few smooth minutes on the field left Andy Dalton in a good mood. Dalton completed his only pass and led the Bengals to a touchdown in his only drive -- one that took four minutes to finish -- and the Cincinnati Bengals ended the preseason with a 27-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night. The third-year quarterback wanted a crisp drive to finish the preseason. He got it. "We did what we wanted to do," Dalton said of the seven-play drive. "We drove down and scored -- had some good runs mixed in there and some conversions on passes. We did what we wanted the first offence to do." Cincinnati (3-1) has a few decisions left before starting the season, none bigger than picking Daltons backup. Josh Johnson followed Dalton for the second straight game and had a solid showing. He led the Bengals to a touchdown and a field goal in three possessions before halftime. Johnson scrambled twice for 38 yards on a touchdown drive that culminated in his 3-yard pass to Marvin Jones, showing his main advantage over John Skelton in the competition for the backup job. Overall, Johnson was 7 of 13 for 67 yards with three sacks. "I feel good," Johnson said. "I feel Ive improved weekly on everything Ive been asked to do and weve been able to get results on the field. Weve been able to put scoring drives together, finish drives. "But you never know. All you can do is put your best foot forward." Skelton, who was behind from the start of the competition to replace Bruce Gradkowski because hed never run a West Coast offence, played the second half and was 6 of 10 for 99 yards with one touchdown drive. The Bengals played most of their starters on offence and defence for one series only. Daltons brief appearance ended in Giovani Bernards 1-yard touchdown run. The Coltts (2-2) rested most of their starters, including quarterback Andrew Luck.dddddddddddd. He and Dalton joked with each other on the field before the game. "One of the goals is to come out as healthy as you can and we did," coach Chuck Pagano said. Matt Hasselbeck started for Indianapolis and led a 12-play drive against most of the Bengals starters. Adam Vinatieri kicked a 43-yard field goal to complete it. Hasselbeck played two series and went 5 of 9 for 49 yards. Vinatieri also was wide left on a 52-yard attempt. Indianapolis starting defence hadnt allowed a touchdown the past two games. With the play-it-safe approach on Thursday, the results were less pleasing. "We didnt play very well at all," linebacker Pat Angerer said. "But well play better." The Bengals starters moved the ball easily against a Colts defence of mostly backups during their one series on the field. All-Pro receiver A.J. Green, who missed the first three weeks of camp with a bruised knee, played the series and drew an interference penalty from Josh Gordy in the end zone, setting up Giovani Bernards 1-yard run. Receiver Brandon Tate made more of an impact as a kick returner. Tates 51-yard kickoff return set up the touchdown. Tate also had a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown in the previous preseason game at Dallas. Both teams had reserves get hurt. Colts inside linebacker Kavell Conner and offensive tackle Emmett Cleary were treated for ankle injuries but returned. Receiver David Reed left with a concussion. Cornerback Daxton Swanson pulled a hamstring and didnt return. Bengals linebacker Emmanuel Lamur dislocated his right shoulder in the first quarter and was taken off the field on a cart. Guard Mike Pollak suffered a knee injury, but coach Marvin Lewis said it wasnt serious.
